Our real estate practice encompasses all major facets of the commercial real estate business, including the acquisition, financing, development, operation and management, leasing, sale and exchange of land and retail, office, multifamily, industrial, self-storage, hotel and mixed-use properties, for domestic and foreign clients, throughout the United States.

We represent buyers and sellers in the acquisition, sale and exchange of all types of commercial real estate, from single assets to large multi-state portfolios. We also represent developers of new residential and commercial subdivisions, single-tenant build-to-suits, shopping centers, office buildings, apartment communities, industrial properties, and mixed-use projects. We represent owners and operators of commercial real estate projects, and real estate service providers, in all facets of real estate operation. We represent retail, office, and industrial landlords and tenants in lease negotiations, modifications, workouts and disputes.

MCS also represents lenders and borrowers in a wide variety of commercial real estate financing transactions, including construction loans, permanent (and mini-perm) loans (including CMBS loans), and mezzanine financing, as well as modifications, workouts, note purchases, and the purchase and sale of distressed assets.

Our practice also includes the formation and restructuring of partnerships, limited liability companies, and corporations, and the purchase and sale of interests in those entities. Clients include developers raising capital, real estate investment banking firms providing preferred equity or subordinated debt, and investors seeking to invest new or additional capital.

Our Commercial Real Estate team creates value for clients not only by anticipating problems before they arise, but also, more importantly, by crafting creative solutions to those problems that facilitate the closing of the transaction.
