J. Mark Chevallier
Biography
Mark was born in Jonesville, Louisiana, in 1962. Since graduating Order of the Coif from LSU Law School in 1988, Mark has practiced law in Dallas, Texas, specializing in corporate bankruptcy, debtor-creditor matters and complex commercial litigation. Professionally, Mark is recognized as a Texas Super Lawyer by Law & Politics Media, Inc. each year since 2007, and as one of The Best Lawyers in America published by Woodward/White, Inc. (2010-2012). Mark has earned the designation of Master in the American Inns of Court. Mark currently is the head of the firm?s Bankruptcy and Creditors? Rights Practice Group.
Representative Experience
Mark represents clients in all capacities in bankruptcy proceedings in Texas and throughout the country. Mark?s practice includes representation of debtors, official committees, trustees and other parties-in-interest in major corporate bankruptcies involving debtors ranging from publicly traded corporations with billions in assets and liabilities to much smaller privately held companies. Mark has successfully represented debtors in Chapter 11 reorganizations in a variety of industries, including real estate, health care, retail, printing, telecommunications, software, energy and service. Mark also frequently represents clients in director and officer litigation, avoidance actions and other complex commercial litigation.
