MCS’ Steven Kennedy and Jonathan Thalheimer to Present at UT Law’s 55th Annual William W. Gibson, Jr. Mortgage Lending and Servicing Institute

MCS Shareholders Jonathan Thalheimer and Steven Kennedy are featured speakers at UT Law’s 55th Annual William W. Gibson, Jr. Mortgage Lending and Servicing Institute at The University of Texas Thursday and Friday, Sept. 16 & 17.

The  two-day live webcast explores the latest legal and accounting developments related to real estate lending, financing and title issues. This year’s  highlights include updates from the legislature and the courts and a presentation by Dr. Ray Perryman, Ph.D, on “The Outlook for the US and Texas Economies in a Post-COVID-19 Environment.”

Mr. Thalheimer will lead a presentation Friday on the LIBOR Transition, including perspective and recent developments in the transition away from the London Interbank Offered Rates (LIBOR) for variable rate loans.

Mr. Kennedy’s presentation on Friday focuses on Texas mechanics and materialmens liens, including the impact of HB 2237, which goes in effect January 1, 2022, with important changes to the law related to the complex and often confusing world of construction-related liens in Texas.

Participants can earn up to 12 hours of CLE credit in the areas of Bankruptcy Law, Consumer Law, and Real Estate Law Professional. In addition, professional accreditation is approved for TX Accounting CPE and TX Real Estate Commission (TREC).
