MCS Partner Jonathan Thalheimer Named Texas Chair of The American College of Mortgage Attorneys  

McGuire, Craddock & Strother is proud to announce that firm Partner Jonathan Thalheimer has been named Texas State Chair of the prestigious American College of Mortgage Attorneys, a select invitation-only association of attorneys in the United States and Canada recognized as distinguished practitioners in the law relating to real estate mortgages.  As Texas State Chair, Mr. Thalheimer will be responsible for editing the Texas section of the highly regarded ACMA Mortgage Law Summary, reviewing proposed Texas ACMA nominees and answering ACMA questions regarding Texas law as it relates to the mortgage industry.

Talheimer_Jonathan_6684To be eligible for membership in the ACMA, a lawyer must have achieved wide recognition through one or more of the following activities: lecturing; writing and publishing; drafting legislation or otherwise participating in the legislative process; writing briefs of significant precedent to mortgage transactions; or noteworthy bar association involvement.

Mr. Thalheimer is one of only three lawyers in Texas to be elected as a fellow in both the American College of Real Estate lawyers (ACREL) and the American College of Mortgage Attorneys.

Formed in 1974, the ACMA is comprised of fewer than 450 lawyers in North America who are leaders in the mortgage law industry. Members (Fellows) share a commitment to giving back to their industry, improving and reforming laws and procedures affecting real estate secured transactions, and raising the level of professional responsibility of lawyers practicing in this area.
