Jonathan Thalheimer Selected as Vice-Chair of ACREL’s Capital Markets Committee

The American College of Real Estate Lawyers – a select group of some of the most-respected real estate attorneys in the United States and Canada – has selected MCS Partner Jonathan Thalheimer to be Vice Chair of the organization’s Capital Markets Committee.

Selection for ACREL is based on peer nominations followed by a rigorous screening process to identify lawyers with strong practices, positive reputations, and a demonstrated commitment to improving the practice of real estate law. ACREL seeks to promote professionalism in the practice of real estate law through educational materials and to improve and reform laws that relate to real estate through policy discussion and involvement in the legislative and regulatory process.

The ACREL Capital Markets Committee’s specific mission is to improve real estate law in the area of securitized transactions and capital markets financing. The committee works to facilitate access to information about real estate-related capital market transactions, as well as rating agency guidelines and procedures. Upon completion of his one-year term as vice chair, Jonathan will assume the position of committee chair.

Jonathan is an active member in ACREL and currently serves as the organization’s Texas Chair. He is one of only three lawyers in Texas to be elected as fellow in both the American College of Real Estate Lawyers and the American College of Mortgage Attorneys.
