Jonathan Thalheimer Elected to ACREL’s Board of Governors
MCS partner Jonathan Thalheimer has been elected to the Board of Governors of the American College of Real Estate Lawyers – a select group of some of the most respected real estate lawyers in North America.
The election during ACREL’s annual meeting in Nashville marks the latest step in Mr. Thalheimer’s leadership commitment in the organization. Upon his election to the board, he will relinquish his position as chair of ACREL’s Capital Markets & Real Estate Finance Committee, a position he has held for the past three years, but will remain involved as that Committee’s board liaison.
ACREL seeks to promote professionalism in the practice of real estate law through educational materials and to improve and reform laws that relate to real estate through policy discussion and involvement in the legislative and regulatory process. Selection for ACREL is based on peer nominations followed by a rigorous screening process to identify lawyers with strong practices, positive reputations, and a demonstrated commitment to improving the practice of real estate law.
Mr. Thalheimer also is active in the American College of Mortgage, where he serves on the Board of Regents and as Co-Chair of its Capital Markets Committee. He is one of only a few practitioners in Texas to have membership in both organizations.
