The Dallas Business Journal speaks with real estate veterans, including MCS’ Harriet Tabb, about impact of Texas Open Carry law

The Dallas Business Journal recently caught up with McGuire, Craddock & Strother’s Harriet Tabb for insight regarding how the new Texas Open Carry law is playing out with property owners and managers. In the article, “Landlords see little impact so far from new open carry law,” DBJ reporter Candace Carlisle spoke with real estate industry veterans, who agreed that while the new law generated plenty of controversy before its passage, its actual impact on property owners, landlords and real estate professionals has been mostly muted so far.

Ms. Tabb, a veteran North Texas mixed-use real estate lawyer, notes that some uncertainty remains in applying the law to developments that have both public and private components. “The biggest problem I am concerned about is what happens in developments that are built as public/private partnerships because most government buildings must allow open carry,” she said.
