McGuire, Craddock & Strother’s Thalheimer and Whelan to Speak at the William W. Gibson Jr. Mortgage Lending Institute

McGuire, Craddock & Strother shareholders Jonathan Thalheimer and Thomas Whelan are returning to the University of Texas School of Law’s Annual Mortgage Lending Institute to participate in a panel discussion on Recourse Carve-Out Liability.

Whelan and Thalheimer are frequent speakers on real estate law, and each has held leadership positions in the William W. Gibson Jr. Mortgage Lending Institute, now in its 48th year.

The Mortgage Lending Institute features two full days of panels and speakers addressing the latest developments in real estate law and practical information on real estate lending, financing and title issues. Whelan and Thalheimer will take part in a panel on “Recourse Carve-Out Liability,” which addresses the reach of so-called “bad boy” guarantees or carve-outs relating to personal liability against borrowers and principals of borrowers upon the occurrence of certain acts committed by the borrower or its principal.

The 48th Annual William W. Gibson Jr. Mortgage Lending Institute will be held Sept. 18-19  in Austin and Oct. 2-3 in Dallas.
